Several Get-a-Grip models meet the criteria for different type boats, such as fishing, cruising, trawlers, ski etc. Our models 12, 15, 18 & 20 boarding assist handles can be installed on various size boats, and are ideal for those that are fixed with a fishing rod holder near the transom.
All our grab handles are light weight and designed to fit into a standard 30 degree fishing rod holder.
The locking mechanism is integrated into the lower end of the handle and prevents the handle from pulling out of the rod holder socket.
Our boat boarding handles, kayak handles and boat fender tie bars, are easily inserted and locked into place for quick use (a quarter turn) and as easily unlocked and removed when not needed. Help your family and friends get back onto your boat easily and safely.
NOTE: Some specialty rod holders with a drain bib, tapered or closed bottom, will not fully accept the get-a-grip locking notch feature to secure the handle.

Product Details
The Get-a-Grip Boarding Assist Handles are made of durable high grade polyvinylchloride (PVC), with a high impact threshold, strong UV resistance and a 100% solid wall construction. The outside diameter of the handle is 1 5/16" and has a 3/8" wide locking notch. Available in gloss white or safety yellow. They are made to float if inadvertently dropped overboard. Rod Holder Recommendation
|
When considering adding a flush mounted fishing rod holder to accommodate a Get-a-Grip Grab Handle, you should ask your marine dealer to install a rod holder with a gimbal pin at the bottom. We recommend a stainless steel 30-degree flush mounted rod holder with a ¼” dia. gimbal pin, as shown in the adjacent photo. Some plastic rod holders have a 5/16” gimbal bar molded in at the bottom.
This style will also accept the Get-a-Grip Assist Handle to help secure the Boarding Handles locking feature. The white rod holder shown is a 0-degree (vertical) flush mounted heavy wall PVC model. Both models can be used effectively when positioned in a safe and usable area and are installed in a secure manner. Rod holders with a vinyl liner will reduce the inside diameter by a nominal ¼” for a more snug fit. Some specialty rod holders with an enclosed bottom will not fully accept the locking notch feature. |
