GET-A-GRIP ROD HOLDER RECOMMENDATION
Fishing Rod Holders are variable in design, size and material

NOTE: Some specialty rod holders with a drain bib, tapered or closed bottom, will not fully accept the Get-a-Grip locking notch feature to secure the handle properly.
SEAMLESS INTEGRATION: CHOOSING THE RIGHT ROD HOLDER FOR YOUR GET-A-GRIP BOAT BOARDING HANDLES
Ensure the best fit and security for your Get-A-Grip Boarding Handles by selecting a compatible flush-mounted rod holder.

Key Requirement: Gimbal Pin/Bar
The rod holder must have a gimbal pin or bar at the bottom to secure the handle's locking feature.
-
Recommended Specification: Stainless steel, 30-degree flush-mount with a 1/4" dia. gimbal pin.
-
Acceptable Alternative: Heavy-duty plastic models with a molded 5/16" gimbal bar.
-
Acceptable Angle: Both 30-degree and 0-degree (vertical) models can be used effectively.
Installation and Fit Notes
-
Placement: Must be installed securely in a safe and usable area.
-
Vinyl Liners: Rod holders with vinyl liners will offer a snugger fit (by reducing the nominal inside diameter by ≈1/4").
-
Rod holders can be purchased at Boat Dealers, Marine Supply Store and Fishing Tackle Outlets.
-
Avoid: Rod holders with a fully enclosed (solid) bottom may not fully accept the locking notch feature and should be avoided.
